American Coatings Show 2020 Postponed

March 6, 2020 - After careful consideration and in response to the continuing developments surrounding COVID-19, the organizers of the American Coatings Show and Conference 2020 (ACS/ACC) announce that the ACS/ACC will be postponed to a later date in 2020. The ACS/ACC was scheduled for March 31 through April 2 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Ind.

Postponement of ACS/ACC 2020 was unavoidable as the show could not proceed as scheduled due to forces beyond our control. The ACS/ACC organizers are working to secure dates to reschedule the show at the same venue in Indianapolis later in 2020. The new dates for the event will be announced as soon as possible. ACS/ACC organizers will continue to keep our exhibitors, attendees and stakeholders informed of further details related to the postponement and rescheduling.

Thank you for your support, patience and cooperation as we continue to work through this challenging situation.

Improve your coating process with high-class instruments for wettability, surfactant content, and foam behavior

We invite you to our booth 654 at the American Coatings Show in Indianapolis, IN, USA (March 31 - April 02) where our highlights focus on quality control throughout the coating process.

Optimize wettability: Measure the quality of pretreated and coated parts

Determine the wettability of your pretreated or coated material in no time at all using our Mobile Surface Analyzer – MSA with its Liquid Needle dosing technology.

The Liquid Needle turns the once laborious contact angle technique into an ultra-fast quality control method. The MSA uses it to measure the surface free energy (SFE), which is a perfect indicator for the wettability of the surface by aqueous or organic liquids and far more reliable than test inks. Measurements using templates and automated dosing of test liquids ensure operator-independent results, which can be automatically evaluated using predefined limits.

Our MSA analyzes samples of any size, such as automobile bodies. It provides accurate values even for vertical, overhead, and slightly convex samples. The handy instrument can also detect residues of cleaning agents and is capable of doing 1,000 material tests per cartridge charge.

Improve your coating liquid: Monitor the wetting agent content in electroplating baths

Bubble Pressure Tensiometer – BPT Mobile

Capture the surfactant content of your coating or etching bath within seconds using surface tension with our Bubble Pressure Tensiometer – BPT Mobile.

The quality inspector using the BPT Mobile knows immediately whether the bath is okay thanks to an ad-hoc evaluation. Moreover, for pro-active adjustment of the bath, it shows the change of results over time.

The instrument, which is independent from the grid or a computer, has a touch display that makes using it as intuitive as a smartphone. It lies well in the hand and is especially easy and safe to operate thanks to the large-sized interface. Programmed measurement templates and the fact that the instrument is insensitive to changing immersion depths provide for user-independent quality control.

Focus on the whole picture: Characterize your substrates and coatings with one precise instrument

Drop Shape Analyzer – DSA25E

Measure the contact angle and calculate the surface free energy of your substrates as well as the surface tension of your coatings accurately and reliably with our Drop Shape Analyzer – DSA25.

Identifying and developing compatible liquid-solid combinations is the key to effective wetting and adhesion. With a flexible combination of measuring methods, the DSA25 evaluates the interaction between solid and liquid properties, providing an overall picture of the wetting process and allowing you to predict the adhesion and the long-term bonding of the coating.

This highly adaptable instrument uses a software-controlled double-dosing unit to produce quick and precise measurements that are reproducible and repeatable. The DSA25 is fast, simple to operate, and ideal for substrates with complex geometries.

Promote wetting: Analyze the spreading properties of your coating

Force Tensiometer – K100

Determine the surface tension and dynamic contact angle of your coating and its components for quality assurance or research with our Force Tensiometer – K100.

Good wetting and spreading of coatings are prerequisites for a uniform layer. These properties are largely governed by the liquid’s surface tension, which is why surfactants are part of many paint formulas.

The K100 uses a special force sensor with high resolution along with rings and plates to obtain reliable, accurate measurements for determining surface and interfacial tension. The instrument can also be configured for measuring contact angle on pigments (powders) to characterize their wettability and dispersibility. The simple changeover between different measuring methods allows you to analyze surfactants and surface-active materials as well as the bulk material.
