Inside Sales Specialist (m/f/d)

This position carries the prime responsibility for sales support and lead qualification.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for the leads that come in from all sources.  The goal is to gather information about the customer’s inquiry such as timing, budget and basic needs.  Handle the simple requests and for the ones that should be converted to an opportunity, make an introduction to the sales rep and enter the opportunity into the CRM with the related notes.
  • Sell service contracts and help to identify additional service customers once a trip to a particular location has been determined.
  • Create and send quotations as needed.
  • Work targeted lists based on mini-marketing campaigns in order to generate leads.
  • Enter all information collected into the CRM in an accurate and timely manner.
  • As a member of the Customer Care Center, acts as the primary sales contact when customers reach out to us here at the office.  This may be to redirect requests to the field sales, service or applications groups and to take order info and pass along to accounting team.
  • Participate in monthly and yearly sales meetings.
  • Submit monthly KPIs and participate in the process to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of prior Inside Sales experience in capital scientific equipment sales; prior experience in surface science highly desirable.
  • Organize, organize, organize . . . must have strong ability to organize work.  More than any other position within the company, communications come from everywhere and need to be directed to the correct person without letting anything be forgotten.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse customer base.
  • Ability to prioritize activities that achieve sales goals; good time and territory management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus.
  • Strong phone skills and the ability to handle customer rejection in a friendly manner.
  • Prior sales, service, or technical support experience preferred.
  • Must work well in a team environment and be able to accept criticism.
  • Must be able to travel internationally.

Educations and/or Experience

4-year degree.  Prior surface science product experience is helpful. Ability to offer ideas and make suggestions; work in a team environment as well as working alone to solve problems; stay focused while performing multiple tasks; adapt to changing environments; confront and overcome challenges; and be customer focused.  Must be a self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.

Language Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills required. This includes the ability to write coherent and accurate proposals and routine correspondence as well as strong phone and people skills.

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills.

Reasoning Ability

Must be able to work through complex problems in a logical fashion.
