Field Service Engineer (f/m/d)

Our North American service team is seeking an experienced professional to install, calibrate, and provide technical support for our instruments throughout the USA.

That’s why our service team works diligently to deliver prompt and thorough calibrations, repairs, and installations to maintain highly satisfied users. We want to ensure that our customers are always working with a finely tuned instrument, the latest firmware, and up-to-date software.  With our comprehensive technical support, we cover the life cycle of instrument and help customers make the best use of their investment.

What there is to do
  • Resource for our customers virtually, by phone, or on site for installations, calibrations and maintenance services. 

  • Perform installations of measurement systems

  • Repair instruments, including full analysis of the problem, development of solutions, preparation of quotes, and organization of necessary parts 

  • Support for customers to troubleshoot issues including hardware, software, and internet connectivity

  • Ongoing maintenance of demo instruments

  • Configure computers, copy software, and organize hardware 

  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to log issues for record keeping and to build a knowledge database



How you achieve it
  • Two-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field is required. Four-year degree in related science or complementary work experience in surface science is preferred

  • Three or more years of experience in servicing lab instrumentation. Prior experience in engineering and fine mechanics is highly desirable

  • Strong computer, organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills are a must

  • Work in a team environment and independently to solve problems and maintain customer focus

  • Enjoy developing relationships with our diverse customer base using your excellent written and verbal communication skills while calmly and confidently handling stressful situations

  • Be able and willing to travel up to 65%, both domestically and internationally
