Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Prof. Rafael Verduzco

"The partnership with KRÜSS has been very beneficial to Rice and to my lab. My lab works on polymeric materials and we are interested in a wide-range of interfacial phenomena, including surface energy coatings, interfacial tensions at oil-water interfaces, and critical micelle concentrations. The KRÜSS equipment has enabled us to perform a variety of measurements that we would otherwise not be able to do."

Background of Prof. Verduzco

Rafael Verduzco, Ph.D. is Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Rice University. Verduzco graduated summa cum laude from Rice University and received his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology working in the group of Prof. Julia Kornfield. From 2007 until 2009, he served as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His research interests include block copolymer photovoltaics, liquid crystal elastomers, and bottlebrush polymers.
